Club Practice- 10&U, 12&U, 14 &U Boys & Girls, Tuesday and Thursday 5:30-7:15pm. These practices will focus on player development, and learning team concepts and strategies. We will have games, tournaments and scrimmages throughout the fall. Boys and girls will practice together but will compete in games separately.
Club Practice- 16&U ,18 &U – Boys and Girls Tuesday and Thursday 7:15-9:00pm. . These practices will focus on player development, and learning team concepts and strategies. We will have games, tournaments and scrimmages throughout the fall. Boys and girls will practice together but will compete in games separately.
Water Polo conditioning. Monday and Wednesday 7:00-8:00pm. All ages. These practices will focus on the fundamental conditioning needed to play water polo at the highest level. These practices are included in the Gold level registration. Individuals that are not participating in the Tues and Thurs night water polo practices can register for WP Conditioning only. (This would be for HS water polo players looking to get the edge on their competition).
Bakersfield HS Fall League-
September 3- October 12. (6 week session)
Practices: Monday and Wednesday 6:00-7:00pm
Games: Sunday afternoons at CSUB.
Ages 13-18.
Cost: $75 This includes the US Water Polo insurance.
Boys and Girls will practice together however we will have a separate boys and girls league for the Sunday games.
This is a low cost introduction to water polo practice and games. All athletes in this group will practice together on Mondays and Wednesdays. On Sundays, athletes will be divided into teams, based on the HS they attend or HS they will attend if in JR High. Teams will play against each other on Sundays, (1 game per week at CSUB). Athletes in the Gold and Silver groups will also play on Sundays for their HS team however they will not practice on Monday and Wednesdays from 6-7pm. - This is a great program for individuals looking to “try water polo” to see if they like it. It is not affiliated with any High School or district. These practices are not geared for athletes who have played water polo in previous sessions. If there are not enough athletes from YOUR school, you will be placed on another team or we will combine schools to field a team.
Athletes in this group are only eligible for Monday and Wednesday practices from 6-7pm and Sunday games. Your USA Water polo insurance will ONLY cover you for your 2 practices and your Sunday games and will be valid ONLY from Sept 3-October 12. If you wish to participate in additional practices and games, you can “upgrade” your USWP insurance and your club membership at any time for an additional fee.
Junior Water Polo League-
September 3- October 12. (6 week session)

Master’s Monday and Wednesday 8:00-9:30pm. This practice is open to all athletes that have graduated from High School. It is only open to HS kids that are registered in the Gold group. It is NOT open to all members of the Bakersfield Water Polo Club.
Gold Level- The gold group is not necessarily based on talent but on commitment. Gold group members are expected to be at their Tuesday/Thursday age group practices as well as Monday/Wednesday conditioning. Monday and Wednesday Master’s practices are encouraged for all Gold group members that are in the 16&U and 18&U groups. This group is dedicated to traveling and participating in games and tournaments both in and out of the Bakersfield area. This group is eligible and expected to participate in the Sunday HS league.
Silver Level- The silver group will be expected to be at their Tuesday and Thursday practices. They are not eligible to participate in the Monday and Wednesday conditioning or the Monday and Wednesday Master’s practice. The Silver group may participate in games, however in situations where there is a cap on roster spots, priority will be given to Gold level members. This group is eligible and expected to participate in the Sunday HS league.
Registration Fees:
Gold Level- $250 (14,16,18&Unders)
$200 (10&U and 12&U’s)
-Does not include USWP insurance or outside competition costs.

Silver Level- $200 (14,16,18&Unders)
$150 (10&U and 12&U’s)

High School League- $75 (14,16,18&U’s)
-Includes limited USWP insurance and Fall League games
Junior Water Polo League- $75 (10,12, 14&Unders)

Master’s- $60 per session (Sept 3-Nov 20) or $5/practice
-does not include USWP insurance
-Must pay before you enter the water
Water Polo Conditioning (Sept 3- Nov 20)
-No cost if you are a Gold level member.
-Athletes choosing ONLY to participate in the conditioning practices will pay $75 for registration and must also be insured through USWP.
Past, Present and Future of the BWPC
The Bakersfield Water Polo Club began practicing in October of 2007. We started our first session with 20 members and now have over 90 athletes registered with USWP. We have fielded teams and competed at the 12&U, 14&U, 16&U, 18&U and Master’s levels. We have traveled and competed in Fresno, Stockton, Santa Clarita, Ontario and of course Bakersfield. We entered 2 teams in our regional Junior Olympic qualifying tournament which was a great measuring stick, indicating where we are now and where we need to be. Our 14&U boys qualified and will be competing in the 2008 National Junior Olympics.
Our competitive goals for 2009 are to enter our JO qualifying tournament in June 2009 with the following age groups: 10&U Miixed, 12&U Girls, 14&U Girls, 16&U Girls, 18&U Girls, 12&U Boys, 14&U Boys, 16&U Boys, 18&U Boys. We will train to qualify as many of those teams as possible. Our Master’s group will be focused on training and competing in Master’s Nationals in early June.
As our club grows, we will continue to stay true to our mission statement.

The club has been established as a year round club, for the purpose of benefiting the athlete and allowing players to seek the level of competition they desire."
